Today I'm very much excited and happy.After doing so many Mandalas , I had a thought..why not make my own pattern for mandala .Well,I knew ,its not a easy job but still...had a thought .
I was little afraid of designing...thousands of Qs occured in my mind.But then felt ...if I don't try now..won't be able to do ever.
So,I took my pen,paper ,yarn and hook with me , and sat on a floor.
I started chaining . Counting the chains,then Dc,Sc and noting down on a paper was a big and hard job for me, but I never wanted to backtrack.Step by step ,I went on & then a beautiful mandala was created.
Ohhhhhh !! a big WOWWWWW for me and for my mandala !!
My first ever mandala was ready .I was & am really excited .You are so happy when one of your dream comes true!! You feel so great when your long long efforts bring best results.I remembered my last two years..when I was a new to crochet. I was desperate to learn. I remember, I worked day and night ,seriuosly...I used to dream about chains,Dc and Sc..and huge youtube videos didn't allow me to sleep quietly. :)
And now,I could design this mandala..Ohhh..great feeling.Here I would like to thank my friend Wink for trying this pattern and giving feedback,also encouraging me for publishing it.

Sunflower mandala
Abbrevations:
DC = Double crochet
Sc=Single crochet
Sl St = Slip stitch
Picot = Sc ,ch 3,Sc
What you need to make this mandala?
Two colours of yarn , Hook as i used Laura cotton thread so used 3.0 mm hook, needle and a scissor.
Make a magic ring and secure.
1 ) Ch 2 ( count as a 1st Dc) ,1dc,ch 1 . * 2dc,ch 1* 5 times.You have 6dc clusters seperated by ch 1 space. Cut the yarn and pull through the loop on your hook.Now pull the magic rind closed.Thread the end through your needle ,insert into the 1st dc you made.
2 )Join another colour.
Start with a standing stitch by making slip knot on your hook.
Start in ch 1 space you made previously.
*4dc,ch1* all around.
Once you finish, cut the yarn and pull through the loop on your hook.
Now do it as you have done in 1st round.
* Do not change the colour.
Insert a hook in any of the dc you made and pulll up a loop.yarn over and pull through the loop.
Make *Sc* all over.Cut the yarn and do it as in 1st round.
3 )Join another colour.
Insert a hook in any of the Sc done previously.
Ch 6 , sk 2sc , make sc in the 3rd sc.
*Ch 6,sk 2sc ,1Sc * Do all around.
Sl st in last st.
Do not cut the yarn.
Now in ch 6 space,First sl st and then dc4 , make sc in previous sc you made..
* 4 dc ,1 sc* in every ch 6 space.
At the end ,cut the yarn and join it as earlier.
4 ) Join another colour.
Insert a hook in any of the sc you made in previous round..
make ch 6 and insert your hook in sc you made earlier.
make Sc in Sc of previous round.
*1 Sc ,Ch 6 , 1Sc * all around.
Do not cut the yarn.
Sl st in ch 6 space.* 6dc ,1sc *in every ch 6 space. Cut the yarn.Do it as done in 1st round.
5 ) Join another colour .
Insert a hook in any of the sc you made earlier,Make first sc in it.Ch 8 and Sc in sc of previous round.
* 1Sc , Ch 8 , 1 Sc * all around.
Do not change the colour.
Sl st in ch 8 space.Start making dc8 in ch 8 space, sc in sc of previos round.* dc 8, 1sc* around.
cut the yarn,close it like we did previosly..
6 ) Join another colour.
Insert a hook in any of the sc you made earlier.Sc in it. Ch 10 and Sc in sc of previous round.
*1Sc .Ch 10 , 1Sc * all around .
Do not change the colour.
Sl st in ch10 space.Start making dc10 ,sc in sc of previous round.* dc 10 ,1sc* around.
cut the yarn and close it like before.
7 ) Join another colour.
Insert a hook in any of the sc you made earlier.Make first sc in it.Ch 12 and Sc in sc of previous round.
* 1Sc,Ch 12 ,1Sc * all around.
Do not cut the yarn.
Sl st.in ch 12 space.Start making dc 12 , sc in sc of previous round.* dc 12 ,1sc * around.
Cut the yarn, do it as you did in 1st round.
8 ) Change the colour.
Insert a hook in sc you made previously and make 1 sc here.
Start making * 5Sc ,Picot , 6Sc( on dc12 you made in previous round) ,1sc( in previous sc) * all around.
Finshed it off !!!
You have DONE !!!
